“When you face challenges in life that are bigger than you,
you need a God bigger than you.”
(Max Lucado)
That quote from Max is right on.
However, there are many people who want a God they can understood fully and not bigger than themselves.
If that’s so…..then why should I believe in a God that I can fully understand. That I understand every decision he has made, everything he has allowed to happen in our lives.
Well to be honest, I might as well believe in myself and leave Christianity alone.
Hmm……maybe that’s what some people want. If I can get God out of the way (or keep it private and not have an impact on the culture) then I can do whatever I want and not be held accountable for my actions or even transgressions.
However, I’ve learned and are still learning in the forty years I’ve been on the planet that human beings can not be fully trusted to provide all the answers.
Our scope is limited, shortsighted, and highly subjective…even amongst the best that have ever lived.
So where does one go….when life gets to big?
Here’s the answer:
“Come to me, all who labor and are heavy leaden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.” (Matthew 11:28-30 ESV)
