Marion’s Favorites: Amalaya Malbec Wine

I’m a wine drinker, and my favorite wine is a Malbec. Malbec is known for its ample, dark fruit flavors and smoldering finish. This wine is a great alternative to a Cabernet Sauvignon or Syrah. Malbec pairs well with dark meat poultry, dark meat turkey and lean red meat.  Also it is good with duck and lamb. The wine fairs well with mushrooms, green and red bell peppers, and black beans. The biggest Malbec Wine Region is in Argentina.  However, the United States, France, Chile, South Africa, & Australia have a region for the wine.

Amalaya Malbec comes from the high desert terrain in Salta, Argentina.  Amalaya translates in the local language as a bountiful harvest. This wine has a smooth taste makes it easy to drink with the aforementioned foods or by itself while listening to some jazz music from Miles Davis or John Coltrane. You can get a bottle of Amalaya wine for under $15 at your local grocery store.

World Malbec Day is coming up on April 17 and I highly recommend wine drinkers (and those new to wine) to celebrate the holiday with a glass of Amalaya Malbec.
